About Engineered Floors
Engineered Floors was founded in 2009 by Bob Shaw, a flooring industry veteran who built the company after deciding the standard way carpet was manufactured needed to change. Worth noting directly: this is not the same company as Shaw Industries or Shaw Floors, a common point of confusion given the shared founder surname. Engineered Floors is an entirely separate company, headquartered in Dalton, Georgia.
From its first plant, Engineered Floors built its own solution-dyed fiber technology in-house, branded PureColor, rather than sourcing dyed fiber from outside suppliers the way much of the industry historically has. The company grew quickly, becoming one of the fastest-growing private companies in America within its first several years, and has since expanded into hard surface flooring, including SPC and digitally printed LVT, and merged with J+J Flooring Group to expand its commercial offering. Today, Engineered Floors ranks among the largest carpet manufacturers in the world.
What Engineered Floors Offers
PureColor solution-dyed fiber.
Rather than dyeing carpet fiber after it's woven, PureColor's color is built into the fiber itself during manufacturing, which resists fading and staining more effectively than traditional post-dyed carpet, since there's no surface-level dye to wear away or bleach out.
SoilShield protection.
Applied across Engineered Floors' carpet lines regardless of brand, SoilShield adds an additional layer of stain and soil resistance on top of the fiber's inherent properties.
Digitally printed LVT.
Engineered Floors was among the first domestic manufacturers to bring digital printing and embossing technology to LVT production, branded PureGrain, producing more realistic wood-grain visuals than traditional printing methods typically achieve.
